At Boulder Cuba, we strive to provide meaningful and enriching experiences. Whether you are participating in one of our trips to Cuba or contributing through a donation, we appreciate your support. Please review our refund policy carefully for both trip services and donations.
1. Trip Refunds
Boulder Cuba offers unique travel opportunities to Cuba, and we understand that plans can change. Our refund policy for trips is designed to be as clear and fair as possible while taking into account the costs we incur to organize these experiences.
a. Cancellation by Participant
If you need to cancel your participation in a trip, the following refund schedule applies:
- 90 days or more before the departure date: Full refund minus a $150 non-refundable administrative fee.
- 60 to 89 days before the departure date: 50% refund of the total trip cost.
- 30 to 59 days before the departure date: 25% refund of the total trip cost.
- Less than 30 days before the departure date: No refund.
Please note: Refunds are based on the total cost of the trip, and any non-refundable expenses already incurred by Boulder Cuba (e.g., airline tickets, accommodations) may be deducted from your refund.
b. Cancellation by Boulder Cuba
In the rare event that Boulder Cuba must cancel a trip due to unforeseen circumstances, such as travel restrictions, political changes, or safety concerns, you will receive a full refund of all payments made. Boulder Cuba is not responsible for any additional expenses incurred by participants (e.g., flights, insurance).
c. Transfer of Credit
If you are unable to participate in a trip, we may allow you to transfer your credit to a future trip, subject to availability and approval. Requests for transfers must be made at least 30 days prior to the trip’s departure date. Please contact us to discuss your options.
2. Donations
Boulder Cuba deeply values the contributions of our donors, and your support is vital to our mission. As donations directly support our programming and community initiatives, we operate under the following guidelines:
a. Refunds on Donations
- Donations are generally non-refundable. Once a donation is made, it is immediately put to use to further our mission.
- In cases of error (e.g., duplicate donations or incorrect amounts), you may request a refund by contacting us within 30 days of the donation date. We will review your request and, if approved, issue a refund for the full amount minus any processing fees.
b. Tax-Deductibility
Boulder Cuba is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law. Please consult your tax advisor regarding the deductibility of your contribution. If you require a donation receipt, please contact us.
3. Travel Insurance
We highly recommend that all participants in our trips to Cuba purchase travel insurance to cover unforeseen circumstances such as trip cancellations, medical emergencies, or delays. Boulder Cuba is not responsible for any costs incurred by participants due to failure to secure travel insurance.
